At the end of each year, we sponsor the Manyoni Reserve soccer tournament which is held in the Vungama community. This is a popular event that receives a great deal of support from all the neighbouring communities. In 2016 we had 16 teams participating in the tournament from neighbouring communities in the area.

The tournament runs over 3 days, generally during the Christmas holidays leading up to Christmas day and has become a focal meeting place for many people. With a DJ blasting the latest songs from under a shady tree, the spectators can enjoy a good supply of music as well as some energetic and competitive soccer playing.

The tournament has knocked out rounds on each day. The excitement mounts as the final day arrived with only two teams competing for the championship. Winners and runners up are rewarded with medals, cash prizes and the Manyoni cup trophy.

There are plans underway to build a new soccer pitch for the area and to include a netball tournament for the women in the surrounding communities.
